Programs & Activities

Middle School students at STREAM Fair
St. Cassian School enriches the academic lives of students through a wide variety of activities, including leadership and service opportunities, social and cultural events, clubs and assemblies.  A large number of our students gain a lifelong love for music by participating in our beginning and advanced band programs. Students also have the opportunity to participate in Music Ministry by participating in the St. Cassian Bell Chorus. Other clubs are centered on creative and intellectual outlets, including Yearbook, Chess, Forensics, (Public Speaking) Mini Model Congress, the Stock Market Club, and the Newspaper. In addition, our Scouting Program fosters a sense of teamwork and belonging, and teaches students many new skills.

Students are also given the opportunity to explore and expand their multiple talents/intelligences in the arts and academic areas of the curriculum by participating in our annual Science and Art fairs, school-wide plays, poetry and writing contests, concerts and Academic Bowl. Student Council and Mini Model Congress provide experiences in leadership and first-hand exposure to government. St. Cassian School students live their Christian values by participating in a number of community service projects with several local organizations such as the Human Needs Food Pantry of Montclair, Catholic Community Services, St. Michael's Parish Families in Need, and our parish's own Little Angels babysitting service, among others.
